Teak (Tectona grandis) is a tropical hardwood tree species placed in the flowering plant family Lamiaceae. At the end of the dry season, when the first monsoon rains fall, the new foliage emerges. Although the tree flowers freely, few seeds are produced because many of the flowers are sterile.
A known but an overlooked fact that trees are way easier to cut but very difficult to grow. It takes years for the tree to develop fertile seeds which can then germinate and grow into a matured tree.
