Indian Mahogany is found in almost all parts of India. It can also be found in Thattekad Wildlife Sanctuary, Kaziranga National Park and Corbett National Park in India.
The bark extracts of this tree are used as an astringent for wounds. It is used to cure malaria, anaemia, diarrhoea, fever etc. The bark is dark brown in colour and is used in making furniture, inlay, boat and many more. Its wood is a very popular material for making drums.
